چکیده

In near future, the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is widely used in many applications like military and civil domains. The wireless sensor networks are always deployed in hostile and pervasive environment. Security is major concern in the wireless sensor network. The traditional network security methods are not suitable for wireless sensor networks because of limited resource. Several Key management and establishment schemes have been proposed to provide light weight ciphers. The key management schemes play an important role in wireless sensor networks to achieve security. In this paper a survey of key management schemes in wireless sensor networks has been executed. Each and every key management schemes has some trade off between limited resource and security. Classification of key management schemes based on encryption was done. Further based on key pre-distribution (with or without deployment knowledge) and rekeying mechanism, the key management schemes have been analysed and their limitations and advantages have been summarized.

Mitigating Node Capture Attack in Random Key Distribution Schemes through Key Deletion

Random Key Distribution (RKD) schemes have been widely accepted to enable low-cost secure communications in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). However, efficiency of secure link establishment comes with the risk of compromised communications between benign nodes by adversaries who physically capture sensor nodes. The challenge is to enhance resilience of WSN against node capture, while maintainin...

An efficient solution for management of pre-distribution in wireless sensor networks

A sensor node is composed of different parts including processing units, sensor, transmitter, receiver, and security unit. There are many nodes in a sensor unit. These networks can be used for military, industrial, medicine, environmental, house, and many other applications. These nodes may be established in the lands of enemies to monitor the relations. Hence, it is important to consider conse...

Toward an energy efficient PKC-based key management system for wireless sensor networks

Due to wireless nature and hostile environment, providing of security is a critical and vital task in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). It is known that key management is an integral part of a secure network. Unfortunately, in most of the previous methods, security is compromised in favor of reducing energy consumption. Consequently, they lack perfect resilience and are not fit for applications ...

Hybrid Key pre-distribution scheme for wireless sensor network based on combinatorial design

Key distribution is an important problem in wireless sensor networks where sensor nodesare randomly scattered in adversarial environments.Due to the random deployment of sensors, a list of keys must be pre-distributed to each sensor node before deployment. To establish a secure communication, two nodes must share common key from their key-rings. Otherwise, they can find a key- path in which ens...

Secure Communication in a Distributed System Using Identity Based Encryption

Distributed systems require the ability to communicate securely with other computers in the network. To accomplish this, most systems use key management schemes that require prior knowledge of public keys associated with critical nodes. In large, dynamic, anonymous systems, this key sharing method is not viable. Scribe is a method for efficient key management inside a distributed system that us...

SCON: Secure management of continuity in sensor networks

Due to limited energy capacity of batteries, the function lifetime of sensor networks in general is longer than the operational lifetime of single nodes. Therefore, to keep the network working, multiple deployments of sensor nodes are needed. Due to their nature and their operational resource constraints, sensor networks are vulnerable to various types of attacks. Key pre-distribution has been ...
